US Drowning in Tribalism

True purple thoughts encompass ideas that prove that both sides of center. Sometimes that means some more liberal choices while others require a conservative approach. Purple thoughts aren't those that dismantles policies on a random sweeping basis. This shows instability and creates anxiety.

The main cause of these actions are natural to humans. It is Tribalism. You have heard things like this in discussions about the middle east and some southern hemisphere countries. It is, though, a normal track of behavior. The tribes in our government are currently in a battle for control. Neither side feels comfortable with the other as leader They don't trust that any further action of not being only to further and agenda that is purposely damaging to the overall health of the country.

Tribalism will either lead to a complete breakdown of the organization of our states and federal government. Tribes currently are diversely mixed throughout the 50 states. one block of houses could cover at least one connection from many different tribes. How many actually have the same political goals as their neighbors? How many people have stopped talking about politics? I happen to hear that often. I can say that makes me more upset than being able to see where others around me stand on the issues.

I had found myself falling into that tribalism instinct. Deleting friends, walking away from relationships with both friends and family just because some of their views were to far to either side than I was comfortable with. I am not sure that was the best idea. Don't get me wrong, I also have found the relief from the toxicity of many of these people that affected me in more ways than just a political view.

What are America's Tribes right now?

It seems that only about 14% (two tribes) are the loudest right now. The rest spend out time either trying to ignore them like we were taught growing up or by going back at them at the same brutal level of inhumanity. There are ways to fix this and it really is up to tribes in the center to lead by example by highlighting common ground and compromise.
